The Shield : Season 1
Episode 102 : Dawg Days

While working off-duty as security guards at a local club, Danny and Lemonhead are on hand when a dispute between rap music star Kern Little and his former partner, T-Bonz, erupts in gunfire. Despite his distrust for Vic, Captain Aceveda has little choice but to enlist his Strike Team in the hunt for the shooters, employees of Rondell Robinson, a drug dealer who pays Mackey for protection. To avert gang warfare, Vic orders Rondell to turn over two of the gunmen and to quell any drug dealing until things settle down. But another gang shooting puts Vic in jeopardy of having the unit shit down by an Assistant Chief Gilroy. Meanwhile, powerful Latino businessman Jorge Machado asks Aceveda to help find his nanny's missing husband. Hoping to end the dispute, Vic appoints himself to settle on how much T-Bonz is owed for the success of the singer Tyesha. Set on breaking the case himself, Aceveda leans on Rondell, claiming that a cop saw him doing the shooting, and that he knows Vic is on his payroll. Then, after Danny is warned by a pair of thugs to forget what she saw at the club, Vic angrily explodes at Rondell. Meanwhile, as Dutch and Claudette's search for Manuel Ruiz leads them to Eduardo Salcido, David asks Machado to support his run for a City Council seat. When Tyesha's pet dog is poisoned as revenge, Kern asks Vic to take out T-Bonz. Making it appear as if he's going to comply, Vic then locks the two rivals in a warehouse and orders them to settle their dispute by the following morning. Although Dutch and Claudette suspect he killed Ruiz, Eduardo reveals that the laborer died in an accident that was covered up by their employer. And when Ruiz's body is found and the boss arrested, Machado tells David that he'll consider supporting his council bid. Finally, back at the warehouse, Vic finds that Kern is the only one left alive. Directed by: Stephen Gyllenhaal Written by: Kevin Arkadie
