Determined to avenge the humiliation of his sexual assault, Captain Aceveda follows Juan Lozano and two fellow gang members to a neighborhood grocery store. Upon stepping in to stop an armed robbery, he kills one gangster and wounds another, but is still unable to capture Juan. His weapon confiscated pending a departmental investigation, Aceveda pressures Vic for help. Yet, worried that Aceveda's getting too close to the gang will expose his own dealings with them, Vic orders the Byz Lat's leader, Diagur, to find Juan first. Meanwhile, Vic and his men arrange for a career criminal to "find" some of the money train cash as a way of diverting the Treasury Department's investigation away from Mara's mother, Stella.
