Craig Breedlove, American land speed record challenger, arrived in Sydney on 25th October 1963 for a 10 day tour as a guest of Shell and Goodyear. He spent four days in Melbourne, four days in Sydney and two days in Brisbane. It was just some months earlier on the 5th of August he broke the world land speed record running 407.45 MPH at Bonneville.
