John Lane’s ’24 T Roadster Pickup

John Lane from San Leandro, California, had been building hot rod Ts for quite a while by the time his ’24 T Roadster pickup appeared in the April ’58 issue of Hot Rod. His first was built in 1930 when John was still in school. In building this rod, John maintained a lot of the original chrome trim and components, including the ornament mounted on the ’32 grille shell. Other notable hot rodding touches include the Willys and International steering components, and hand-fabricated parking brake lever incorporated into the steering column mount. The ’40 Ford engine with Edelbrock heads is fed via a pair of Stromberg 81 carburetors and an Edelbrock intake.
